The Islamic Insurance Company is a Takaful insurance company located in Amman, Jordan. It was established in 1996 and operates in compliance with Islamic Share'ah laws. The company practices legitimate cooperative insurance through a Wakalah (agency) with a known wage. It started with a capital of 2 million Jordanian Dinars and has now grown to 15 million Jordanian Dinars. The Islamic Insurance Company holds the largest share of the Takaful market in Jordan and has a prominent position in the Takaful insurance market both within and outside of Jordan. The company has received numerous awards and has a distinguished rating of ‘A (jd)' (Single A) from the Islamic International Rating Agency. Additionally, the company has played a role in establishing Takaful insurance companies in other Middle Eastern countries such as Yemen, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia.
