Premier Bank Kenya, previously First Community Bank, is the first bank approved by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) to operate as a full-fledged Sharia Compliant banking institution. The bank received its formal approval from the CBK on May 29th 2007 and it started its official operations on 1st June 2008. In January 2023, Premier Bank Kenya was born through the acquisition of the majority shares in First community Bank.
