The company manufactures and sells wide flange beams, reinforcing bars, hot rolled steel, steel plate, sections such as angles, channels, structural tees and I beams used for trussing, shipbuilding and other steel structures.
Hyundai Steel was established in June 1953 as Korea Heavy industry Corporation. The company merged with Kangwon Industry and acquired Sammi Steel in 2000 and Hanbo Steel in 2004. Hyundai Steel was incorporated into Hyundai Motors Group in April 2004.
