The Company is engaged in Sharia-compliant investment activities and services in local and international markets. The Company, through its affiliates and subsidiaries, invests primarily in financial services, energy and allied services, logistics, real estate and Islamic finance.
The Company activities are structured into five segments, namely Direct Investment, which includes Sector-Wise Diversification, Divested Direct Investments and Ongoing Direct Investments; Asset Management offers Non-Corporate Asset Management and Corporate Asset Management; Treasury Function offers Murabaha, Wekala and Tawarruq; Real Estate Assets consists of assets and operations located in the United Stares, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and Consultancy Services, which offers Financial Consultancies, Investment Strategies and Mergers .
The Company s Vision is to create an integrated financial conglomerate operating in synergy in a variety of fields and sectors forming a power team under the leadership of the parent company capable of competing and implementing mega projects in existing markets, exploring new investment markets, capturing and developing investment opportunities, and achieving integration between AREF and its companies through the exchange of expertise, cooperation in a variety of projects, and coordination which leads to positive financial result.
The Company s Mission is Concentrating on mega projects, reflecting the professional caliber attained by the Group, with its subsidiaries, towards spotting investment opportunities, raising the necessary funds, and attracting new strategic investors Enhancing the group s presence in some promising markets of the region, while exploring investment opportunities in other markets.
Institutional development of the Group, thus rendering it as the major destination for planning and supervision. Rather than directly managing its investments, the Group will consist of several holding companies, each being a leader in its field and under the group s management. This institutional structure will be supported by managerial and technical leaders to capture the targeted expansion opportunities.
Supporting and upgrading the group s subsidiaries and associated companies, which operate in different markets, in addition to establishing and acquiring new companies.
The Company was established on 20 Nov,1975, the Company is a Kuwaiti Shareholding Company. The Company is listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange on 22 November 1998.
On 2 July 2012 , the company was delisted from Kuwait Stock Exchange.
The Company listed again on Kuwait Stock Market-OTC market on 18 November 2018.
