Lietuvos Juru Laivininkyste (LJL) was registered on June 27, 2001 as a result of the reorganization of Lietuvos Juru Laivininkyste (Lisco). The two new companies were established in order to separate services rendered by liner and tramp fleet. The core activity of LJL is dry cargo transportation by seagoing vessels. LJL owns and operates 18 vessels. Since the very establishment of the company the vessels have been operated under Time Charter, spot market and contractual freight agreements. The Baltic, Mediterranean, West European and North American regions are the work places for LJL. The Safe Navigation Management Service has certified LJL's compliance with the international working environment standards. LJL employs 560 persons.
