In 1966, there was established the 4-th board of road construction of Šiauliai (BRC-4), which performed works of capital construction and capital repairs on out of town roads. Currently supervision of roads is being performed by state enterprise "Šiaulių regiono keliai" (“Roads of Šiauliai Region”). After restoration of independence, during public privatisation, in 1993 BRC - 4 became public limited liability company “Šiaulių plentas", and in 2005, it was reorganised to private limited liability company. Currently, entire share capital is owned by private persons.
