The INTRAC group was previously part of the Finnish trading company Thomesto OY. During 2002 the group management together with the Baltic Investment Fund undertook a management buy-out. The company has been active with heavy machine trade in the Baltics since the 1970'ies. In 1994 subsidiaries were founded in the Baltic countries as a way to improve service and support for the company's customers. In 1995 the parent company was established to develop and co-ordinate the marketing and sales of heavy machinery in the Baltics. INTRAC Group AB has headquarters in Stockholm, and subsidiaries in all three Baltic countries. Owners of the INTRAC Group AB are the Baltic Investment Fund, Inter IKEA Investments and the management of the INTRAC Group. The Baltic Investment Fund is managed by BaltCap Management Ltd , which manages private equity funds investing in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. BaltCap Management Ltd currently manages over EUR 90 million in committed funds. Inter IKEA Investments is an independent European finance group specialising in asset management, financial advisory services and proprietary investments. Catella Private Equity is an exclusive advisor to proprietary funds that primarily invest in unlisted Nordic companies with a turnover in the range EUR 25 to 100 million.
