Unibank was founded in 1993. In 1994 bank became a member of the Stock Exchange of Moldova. During 1997 - 2002, the institution was owned by oil company "LUKoil Europe” Ltd, after passing the bank holding possession Petrocommert in Russia. In 2007, the entire capital of the bank was acquired by the Austrian group VCP Capital Partners Unternehmensberatungs AG. In 2011 was connecting points of sale of the Bank's international money transfer system Money Gram. And in 2012 the stake of the Bank in the amount of 100% was purchased by 21 shareholders - natural persons and legal entities, residents and non-residents of the Republic of Moldova. In 2015 The National Bank of Moldova decided to withdrawn the licence of B.C. “UNIBANK” S.A. and has appointed a liquidator for liquidation of the bank. Currently the bank is in liquidation procedure.
