IS Editura Universul (Moldova)

Intreprinderea De Stat Editura Universul is a publishing company located in Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova. The company was established on December 7, 1993, in the city of Tiraspol, through a decision of the Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine. Initially known as the Party Publishing House of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolshevik) of Moldova, it later became part of the "Presa" concern. The main task of the Party Publishing House was to print republican periodical editions. In 1934, the company printed its first book, a collection of party conference documents. In August 1940, the publishing house was transferred to Chisinau, but it resumed its activity only on January 25, five years later. It started printing newspapers such as "Tineretul Moldovei," "Țăranul Sovietic," "Octeabri," "Femeia Moldovei," and "Chipăruș." Currently, Editura Universul has various departments, including binding, printing, form and newspaper sections, paper preparation, sanitary facilities, and material supply. The employees in these sectors have mastered their professions and have been working diligently for several decades, ensuring high-quality results. Over the years, Editura Universul has printed over 90 republican and regional newspapers and magazines, as well as books from publishers such as "Prut Internațional," "Litera," "Știința," and "Gunivas." In 2001, the company received the "Printing House of the Year" award at the 10th edition of the Book Fair for publishing the 8-volume collection of works by Mihai Eminescu. The printing house of Editura Universul has the technological capabilities to print and deliver various materials, including document collections, books, magazines, brochures, folders, posters, forms, agendas, plates, invitations, illustrations, and envelopes.
