National Bank of Malawi is a Malawi-based bank. The Bank provides retail, corporate banking, investment banking and stock broking services in Malawi. It has a network of 22 service centers. Press Corporation Limited (PCL) is the Bank’s parent company. As of December 31, 2007, the Bank has 22 service centers throughout the country. Its subsidiaries include National Bank of Malawi Nominees Limited and Stockbrokers Malawi Registered Limited. The Bank operates in two divisions: corporate banking and retail and personal banking. The corporate banking division sells various specialist financial services through packaged deals. The Retail banking operations introduced value added services, such as utility bill payment on banking hall counters, on Internet banking and the automated teller machine (ATM) infrastructure. Revenue from treasury operations continues to be a major source of income for the Bank, the major sources being foreign exchange and money market operations.
