Fondo de Cultura Economica - FCE - is a publishing group founded in 1934 by Daniel Cosio Villegas as a way to provide Castilian literature books for students at the National School of Economics of the UNAM. Subsequently it extended its publishing activities to segments such as childrens literature, reference books and research papers. It currently has a collection of about seven thousand volumes. It has subsidiaries in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Caracas, Venezuela, Guatemala, Chile, USA and Spain.
