The "Instituto Mexicano del Petroleo" - IMP - (Mexican Petroleum Institute) was created in 1965. The IMP is focused on the scientific research and the technological development of the oil industry, basic petrochemicals, derived petrochemicals and chemicals. Its main objectives are the research and technological development, engineering and technical services, the commercialization of investigation's results and the subscription of joint ventures and technological joints.
