In February 15, 1996, FOBAPROA, GFI (Inverlat Financial Group) and the Bank Inverlat celebrated with "The Bank of Nova Scotia (Scotiabank)" capitalization conventions, stock purchase Agreements and administrative contracts. Since January 15, 2001, the company name changed to "Grupo Financiero Scotiabank Inverlat". The corporate names of other companies in the group switched to "Scotia Inverlat Casa de Bolsa"
