Prestar Resources Bhd (PRB) is an investment holding company located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was incorporated on July 12, 1984, under the name Prestar Industries Sdn Bhd and later converted into a Public Limited Company on June 27, 1994. PRB was listed on the Second Board of BURSA Malaysia on September 20, 1995, and transferred to the Main Board on October 1, 2003. PRB's main focus is on steel-processing and steel-products manufacturing activities. It operates factories in Selangor and Penang, Malaysia. The company initially started manufacturing wheelbarrows, hand trucks, castors, and platform trucks in 1984. Since its public listing in 1995, PRB has diversified and expanded its operations. It now engages in the reprocessing of steel mother coils into slitted coils/sheets for industries such as automotive, electrical, and electronics. PRB also manufactures carbon and stainless steel pipes/hollow sections, steel highway guardrails, steel flat bars, steel purlins, steel shelving, and racking for storage usage. PRB's manufacturing activities are carried out in two plants located in Rawang Industrial Estate, with a total built-up area of 755,000 sq. ft. on a 950,000 sq. ft. industrial land. The subsidiary companies of PRB include Prestar Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, Prestar Precision Tube Sdn Bhd, Prestar Steel Pipes Sdn Bhd, Prestar Storage System Sdn Bhd, Prestar Engineering Sdn Bhd, Prestar Galvanising Sdn Bhd, and the associated company POSCO-MKPC Sdn Bhd (a joint-venture with POSCO, Korea). Additionally, PRB's associate company, Tashin Holdings Berhad, is listed on the ACE market of Bursa Malaysia and operates a steel processing and manufacturing facility in Penang. In addition to manufacturing, PRB's subsidiaries are involved in the sales and distribution of hardware, material handling equipment, and steel coils/sheets. They have offices and warehouses in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. PRB is actively seeking new business opportunities and strategic alliances with local and overseas partners to expand its earning base and enhance its existing activities.
