The principal activities of the Group consist of the manufacturing and marketing of ductile iron pipes and fittings and waterworks related products for waterworks and sewerage industry. YLI's main and wholly owned subsidiaries are Yew Lean Foundry & Co. Sdn Bhd (YEWLEAN), Yew Li Foundry & Co. Sdn Bhd (YEWLI) and Logam Utara (M) Sdn Bhd (LOGAM). YEWLEAN is involved in the manufacturing and marketing of ductile iron pipes and fittings, and ductile iron saddles. YEWLI is principally involved in the manufacturing and marketing of manhole covers, water tanks, steel products, cast iron fittings and fabrication of pipes. Meanwhile, LOGAM is involved in manufacturing and coatings of steel related products, such as pipes and fitting and brass fittings. YLI's operations are mainly located in various parts of Prai, in Penang. The company has further expanded its business into the construction of water-infrastructure projects, such water treatment, management and supply of treated water for both the public and private sectors. The Company was incorporated in 1995 and is based in Perai.
