The Bank has been in operation in Nepal since 1987 and it was initially registered as a joint venture operation. The bank is registered with the office of company registrar as a public limited company and carries out commercial banking activities in Nepal under the license from Nepal Rastra Bank (The Central Bank of Nepal).
The Bank is listed at Nepal Stock Exchange on 18 September 2007.
The Bank's ultimate parent company is Standard Chartered Plc. (SCPLC) which is incorporated in United Kingdom.
The Bank offers full range of banking products and services to wide range of clients encompassing individuals, mid-market, local corporate, multinationals, large public sector companies, government corporations, airlines and hotels, as well as the DO segment comprising of embassies, aid agencies, INGOs and NGOs.
