Banco Nacional de Panama was founded in June 1904 under Law 74 of the same year. In 1911 change its name to Banco Nacional and in 1956 was declared as state bank with its own legal personality. It is an institution whose main functions are to act as state fiscal agent and depository of the nations funds, regulates the flow of interbank documents and provides commercial, private and consumer banking services.
