Electrosur S.A. was created in January 1985 when the Ministry of Energy and Mines gave final concession to develop the activities of distribution of electricity in the areas of Tacna and Moquegua. Electrosur has as main activity electric power distribution and commercialization in the regions of Tacna and energy Moquegua. The company acquires energy from Electroperu and also from Sistema Interconectado Nacional. Electrosur has a total of 14 power substations, with transformations of 138/10 kV. The Primary Distribution System consists of 2 550 distribution substations, of which 1 572 are in Electrosur S.A. and 978 are for sole use. The company listed on the Lima Stock Exchange in 2011.
