Prime Energy Resources Development B.V. – Philippine Branch represents the Philippine operating presence of Prime Energy, the upstream oil and gas company that is the operator and a major equity holder of the Malampaya Deep Water Gas-to-Power Project, the country's only producing indigenous natural gas field. The entity traces its roots to the former Shell Philippines Exploration B.V., which was acquired by a subsidiary of Prime Infrastructure Capital and subsequently renamed. From its base of operations in the Philippines, Prime Energy Resources Development B.V. is responsible for the exploration, development, production, and delivery of natural gas and condensate from the Malampaya field offshore northwest Palawan. Its activities include subsea production operations, maintenance and upgrade of offshore platforms and subsea facilities, reservoir management and field development planning, coordination of gas deliveries to onshore gas processing facilities, and the supply of fuel to gas-fired power plants supplying a significant share of Luzon's electricity demand. The company also undertakes engineering, project management, and environmental and safety management for ongoing operations and future phases of field development, including potential new wells and expansion projects.
