Solid Group Inc (Philippines)

Solid Group Inc. (SGI) is a publicly listed holding company based in Makati, Philippines. It was formerly known as United Paracale Mining Corporation and was incorporated in 1933. SGI is involved in various industries including distribution, real estate, support services, and investments. In the past, SGI was engaged in manufacturing color televisions and consumer audio and video products. However, due to changes in the business environment, it phased out its manufacturing operations in 2002. SGI now focuses on support services to the consumer durables industry, professional equipment sales and servicing, and after-sales service, logistics, and consumer financing. The company also ventured into the broadband industry and invested in the construction of cable television and internet infrastructure. SGI has also expanded into real estate development, with projects such as high-rise condominiums and budget hotels. In terms of its flagship business, SGI markets its own Filipino brand of mobile phones called "my|phone." Despite competition from foreign and local brands, "my|phone" has gained a strong market presence through affordable and quality products. SGI remains open to new opportunities to enhance value for its stakeholders.
