Jauharabad Sugar Mills Limited (Pakistan)

Jauharabad Sugar Mills Limited is a Public Limited Company located in Lahore, Pakistan. It was initially established by THAL Development Authority of Pakistan and later privatized. The company has been listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited for the past sixty-five years. In March 2013, the current management acquired the majority shareholding of the company, paying off old sponsors and renaming it as Jauharabad Sugar Mills Limited from Kohinoor Sugar Mills Limited. The company underwent a major Balancing, Modernization, and Replacement of Machinery, allowing it to achieve a stated capacity of 7,000 TCD for its currently operating crushing line-II and 5,500 TCD for crushing line-I. The new sponsors have financed this machinery upgrade. Over the past four crushing seasons, the company has successfully consolidated its sugar mills operations and strengthened its financial position. In June 2016, the company decided to diversify its operations by installing a biomass-based 15MW Co-generation Power Plant, with commercial operations expected to begin by June 2018.
