Agri Plus Sp. z o.o., based in Poznan, began its operations in July 2000, developing raw material supply (pig farming) for Animex meat processing plants. Within the same farming structure, Agri Plus Wielkopolska SA also operates, which was established in 1993 under the name Animex Wielkopolska SA. These companies have their own farms, but over 95% of piglet rearing and fattening is carried out by nearly 1000 individual breeders. Agri Plus Sp. z o.o. is part of Smithfield Foods, which, together with WH Group since September 2013, forms the world's largest pork producer. Agri Plus is a leading pig producer in Poland. The company's activities include integrated crop production and feed production in conjunction with pig farming. Agri Plus aims to achieve the highest quality pork while also caring for the natural environment. The priority is to have a harmonious cooperation with family farms, which are a very important part of their operations. Agri Plus conducts full pig farming based on sow herds, boar stations, piglet rearing, and fattening facilities. Agri Plus operates throughout almost the entire territory of Poland.
