Qatar Steel Company is the first integrated steel plant in the Arabian Gulf region, established in 1974. Commercial production began in 1978 and the company has since then strived to meet the growing demand for steel in Qatar and globally through the provision of unparalleled quality, flexibility and reliability in all its products and service offerings. Qatar Steel’s production plant is located in Mesaieed Industrial City, 45 kilometres south of the capital Doha where the company’s corporate headquarters are based. Qatar Steel is fully owned since 2003 by Industries Qatar, which is a subsidiary of Qatar Petroleum with investments in the petrochemicals, fertilizer and steel sectors.
