CET Brasov was founded January 1st 1986 having as main activity the production of thermic and electric energy based on brown coal and natural gases. In 1989 from the thermic diagram CTZ Rulmentul is removed. In the years 2002-2003, because of the mass decoupling of the apartments from the centralized heating system, CTZ Roman was also removed from the thermic diagram. On October 30th 2003, the former RA TERMO was absorbed. SC Rulmentul withdrew from the activity in the north-central area of the city, Caf Metrom was taken over and thus CET Brasov remained the sole provider of thermic energy.
