E.On Romania SRL (Romania)

In 2007, E.ON Gaz Romania Holding was set up, the company responsible for the coordination of E.ON's activities in Romania in the field of natural gas. E.ON became active on the electricity market when E.ON Energie AG acquired a stock package of 51% of the former S.C. Electrica Moldova S.A. from S.C. Electrica S.A. The privatization contract was signed on April 4th, 2005, but the completion of the trade, respectively the transfer of stock property ,took place on September 27th, 2005. In June 2006, the holding company E.ON Energie Romania was also founded, which was meant to coordinate the strategic development of the Group in Romania. E.ON Energie AG and E.ON Ruhrgas AG decided to reunite the activities of their participations in Romania - E.ON Gaz Romania Holding and E.ON Energie Romania, in a single company – E.ON Romania, starting from January 1st, 2009.
