El-Co SA (Romania)

El-Co SA is a company located in Targu Secuiesc, Romania. It was founded in 1975 under the name "Fabrica de Izolatori electrici de joasa tensiune" and began production in 1978. In 1990, it became a joint-stock company and changed its name to S.C. EL-CO S.A. After privatization in 1999, significant changes were made to the company's market strategy, financial structure, and management. With 40 years of experience in producing technical ceramics, the company has production capabilities for atomized ceramic powders, ceramic material pressing, and high-performance ovens. EL-CO SA also has its own tooling department, cold plastic deformation sector, and self-tooling. This production structure allows for exceptional flexibility and has enabled the development of a proprietary range of heating systems with ceramic elements, making it the largest producer of electric ceramic radiators in Eastern Europe. New products are designed in the technical department using CAD platforms. Product testing is conducted in the company's own laboratories, as well as in laboratories in France, Hungary, and Germany. Development, testing, production, and distribution are coordinated from a single central unit covering an area of 35,000 m2. The specialized staff and efficient communication among the 300 employees guarantee the high quality of their products. In 1999, EL-CO SA obtained ISO 9001 certification as a result of efforts to improve product quality. Additionally, most of the company's products have VDE, UL, and CSA certifications. Following privatization in 1999, EL-CO SA became a member of the DELTA group from Canada. EL-CO products are sold in Canada, the USA, Europe, and Asia, becoming the main supplier of technical ceramics for the most important heating equipment manufacturers.
