Netcity Telecom is the concessionaire and operator of Bucharests metropolitan underground telecommunications support infrastructure, designing, building, managing and operating an underground network that enables telecom operators to deploy fiber-optic (and other) electronic communications networks while supporting the citywide migration of aerial cables into the underground to improve urban aesthetics and infrastructure safety. The core offer is non-discriminatory access to a shared underground duct and fiber infrastructure, structured into functional loops across Bucharest and delivered through standardized access services, including rental of transport microduct sections for installing operator microcables (up to specified fiber counts), rental of raccord microduct segments linking the transport network to connected buildings/terminal boxes, and fiber pair rentals for FTTB-type branch connections. The network is positioned as a resilient metropolitan backbone with redundancy and rapid intervention capability, and by the end of 2023 it comprised over 2,570 km of underground infrastructure distributed into 106 functional loops, connecting over 50,000 premises (residential ensembles and office buildings), primarily along major boulevards and homogeneous coverage areas in Bucharest.
