Danone Russia AO (Russia)

In June 2010, Danone and Unimilk signed an agreement to merge the dairy business in Russia and the CIS countries, and in November, the deal was closed. According to AC Nielsen in 2011, the market share of the Group in Russia amounted to 21.6% in volume and 26.9% in value of production. To date, the Group has more than 20 factories, which employ more than 15 thousand employees. In 1998, Russia was opened Danone Institute. The mission of Danone Institute is to develop a balanced and tasty food bringing health. During this period, educational programs were developed for consumers and medical professionals. The Center actively supports scientific research on nutrition. The organizational structure of the institute is formed of Management Board and Scientific Council, composed of leading Russian scientists, known for their work in the field of nutrition science, microbiology and hygiene. In 2012, Danone sales exceeded 20 billion euros, more than half of this amount comes from developing markets. Danone shares are listed on Euronext Paris (Paris) the stock exchange; the company is in main indices of social responsibility, including environmental indices Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, ASPI Eurozone and Ethibel Sustainability Index.
