The main purpose of the plant is the development and supply of heat, maintenance of the facilities by performing repairs. Thermal energy produced by the factory gets to the final user in accordance with contractual basis. Consumers are mainly people from the district and industrial enterprises. Nowadays, Murmansk CHPP contains three large boilers that work for different areas of the town: the central one (boiler-turbine plant), Southern (Boiler N1) and Eastern (Boiler N2).
