The Company was formed by the combination of three trading companies: International Power Sources Inc. ( IPS ), ForeSight Electronics Inc (ForeSight), and XP PLC (XP). The first letter from each of the three companies combined to give IFX Power . IPS provides exclusive own-brand power solutions to the US market focusing on New England. Its products fall into two categories: SMPS and AC-DC converters and its customers primarily are OEM s that are located in North America. IPS s product range is complementary to that of both XP and ForeSight. The Company is a specialist provider of power solutions to the electronics industry. Its products fall into the categories SMPS and DC-DC Converters. The Company is a specialist provider of power solutions to the UK electronics market. It supplies standard, modified-standard and custom power supplies, with particular focus on standard and modified-standard products. Its products fall into the following categories:
SMPS - a product that utilizes switching transistor technology to convert AC voltage to a smooth DC voltage for use within electronic equipment DC-DC Converters ; a power supply product converting one DC voltage to another for use by electronic equipment, Battery ; a valve-regulated lead acid or nickel cadmium battery, UPS - a product that provides electrical power in the event of a power failure and Energy Systems; turnkey power system solutions, that provide secure electrical power in the event of a power supply failure.
History
2000 The Company was incorporated in 2000 and it was listed on 5 July 2000 on London Stock Exchange.
2003 The Company name was changed to XP Power plc on 23 April 2003
2006 The Company s plans to relocate the Company s head quarters to Asia. The board of directors of the Company has since approved a corporate re-organization to introduce a new Singaporean domiciled company,
2007 The Scheme of Arrangement dated on 21 February 2007 to facilitate the relocation of their headquarters to Asia became effective on 24 April 2007. The Company ordinary shares delisted on London Stock Exchange took effect on 25 April 2007 and The Company ordinary shares admited to trading on London Stock Exchange with effect on 25 April 2007.
