Mercator d.d. is a Slovenia-based retail chain which began operations in 1953. It was privatized in 1995 and its shares were listed on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) the same year.
The core activity of Mercator d.d. is retail and wholesale of fast-moving consumer goods. The company also offers appliances and electronics, construction products and furniture, as well as sportswear and textile products. In addition, Mercator d.d. has a real estate management division comprising over one million square meters of own real estate.
The Ljubljana-headquartered company operates through its subsidiaries and affiliates in five other markets across Southeastern Europe, including Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Albania.
Nearly 40 percent of the company’s sales revenues are generated internationally.
