Slovenia-based Sava Reinsurance Company d.d. began operations in 1973 as the reinsurance department of Zavarovalnica Sava (Sava Insurance). In 1977 it became a separate legal entity under the name Pozavarovalna Skupnost Sava (Reinsurance Community Sava). It turned into a joint-stock company in 1990 and in 2008 its shares began trading on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE). Sava Reinsurance Company d.d. offers domestic and foreign clients life insurance, pension insurance and fund management services. The company has 13 subsidiaries and three affiliated companies as its operations spread across Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Macedonia. The company’s largest shareholder is the Slovenian Restitution Fund.
