SZ - Infrastruktura d.o.o. is the infrastructure company within the Slovenske zeleznice Group responsible for the management, development and maintenance of the national railway infrastructure in Slovenia. It manages the railway network, including tracks, signalling and telecommunication systems, level crossings, stations and associated assets, and provides rail traffic management and control services. Activities include planning and implementation of investments in new and upgraded railway lines, modernization and renewal of existing infrastructure, maintenance and repair works and technical support functions related to safety, interoperability and capacity management. As the infrastructure manager, it ensures non-discriminatory access to the network for railway undertakings, provides timetabling and capacity allocation and cooperates with neighbouring infrastructure managers on cross-border corridors. The company operates within Slovenia but is integrated into European rail transport corridors through international connections and EU regulatory frameworks. Strategically, it focuses on increasing the capacity, safety and reliability of the Slovenian rail network, on implementing modernization and digitalisation projects and on supporting a shift of freight and passenger transport to rail in alignment with national transport and climate policies.
