ZTS VVU Kosice, a.s. is a company operating in the field of engineering and electrical engineering. The company was established in 1976 when a part of the former VSS Construction unit in Košice was separated and formed into the Development Plant. After organizational changes and integration into the ZTS Martin conglomerate, a new independent legal entity, ZTS Vyskumno-vyvojovy Ustav Kosice, was formed in 1981 as part of the developing integrated research and development base. The institute was responsible for the development of purpose-built vehicles, heavy hydraulic manipulators, transportation and handling systems, small control systems for production, technological and transportation processes, special equipment (rear army units and engineering equipment on wheeled chassis), forming machines, lines with high-speed cutting machines, and stationary transmission devices. With the dissolution of the ZTS Martin conglomerate, ZTS VVU Kosice became a separate state enterprise on July 1, 1990. As part of the transformation process, it was converted into a joint-stock company, ZTS VVU Kosice, a.s., on May 1, 1992, and privatized in the first wave of coupon privatization from 1992 to 1993. Currently, the company has 104 employees and provides development, production, comprehensive supply, and service of equipment for customers both domestically and internationally.
