Zentiva, a.s. is a leading company focused on the development, production and sale of generic products for people. The product portfolio of the company secures standard treatment of a wide range of therapeutic groups. SFA was established in 1941 in Bratislava, in 1992 was established as a joint stock company with 100% participation of the National Property Fund of the Slovak Republic. In 1994, the company was privatised, with the principal shareholder being the private company SL Pharma Holding GmbH (Wien). In 2003 a majority share in the company was acquired by the American investment funds Warburg Pincus LLC, in the same year, the company was integrated to the newly established Zentiva group. As a result, the company name was changed to Zentiva, a.s., Hlohovec. It is generated mostly in the markets of the Slovak and Czech Republics, the states of the European Union and in Central and Eastern Europe.
