El Salvador Network, S.A. (SALNET) is a Salvadoran company located in San Salvador. It was incorporated in December 1997 and has played a significant role in the development of telecommunications in El Salvador. SALNET was the first private carrier to operate in the country. In the same year, the company entered the commercial internet services market with the most advanced technological system in Central America. In 1999, SALNET began installing the first digital telephone network using its fiber optic ring, which covers over 85% of the greater San Salvador area, neighboring zones, and parts of Santa Ana city. Currently, SALNET offers a portfolio of technological solutions in telecommunications and electronic security for residential and corporate customers. The company has a presence both nationally and internationally.
