Afyon Cimento Sanayi Anonim Sirketi, located in Istanbul, is a subsidiary of Çimsa. The company started production in 1957 with a wet system kiln, and later converted to a semi-wet system in 1965, increasing its clinker production capacity. In 1966, a second furnace was commissioned, further increasing the factory's production capacity. In 2012, Afyon Çimento Sanayi TA Ş. was acquired by Çimsa. In 2014, the company invested $170 million to establish a new production facility in Halımoru Village of Afyon, with a capacity of 1,500,000 tons/clinker. In 2017, Afyon Cement Factory moved to its new, modern, and environmentally friendly campus. The old factory was terminated after the new factory became operational. The new facility not only showcases advanced technology and environmental features but also provides advantages to its employees, reflecting Çimsa's high level of production and management approach.
