Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi A.S. Otokar began business in 1963 as Turkey's first intercity bus manufacturing company under the license of Magirus Deutz of Istanbul. Nowadays the company provides solutions in commercial and military vehicles. It offers off road vehicles, minibuses, midibuses and autobuses, trailers, semi-trailers, and cross-country vehicles. The company also provides curtainsider trailers, van type trailers, tankers, skeletal vehicles, tippers, and car transporters; land rover defenders; and armored vehicles, such as armored patrol vehicles, discreetly armored station wagons, and armored internal security vehicles. Otokar exports its products primarily to the European Union countries.
