In 1964 the company was set up to engage in the production and sale of cigarette filter tip. In 1970 it purchased nylon and polyester filament processing equipment, engaging in the processing of silk processing and sales. In 1988 with over 3,000 metric tons of production capacity of dispersion dye, it became the first world-scale dispersion dye factory. In 1990 it established a research and development department dedicating to the technology research and development to enhance the level of product improvement and innovation. In 1991 Securities and Exchange Commission Ministry of Finance approved its IPO, China Development Trust Company holding more than six per cent stake. In 1994, it obtained ISO-9002 quality certification. In 1997, it cooperated with Itochu Corporation of Japan co-investing Singapore subsidiary and indirectly invested mainland companies. In 1998 MOEA approved its development plan of "Functional COUMARIN products and its process manufacturing technology ". In 2002 it investd Li Hong subsidiary by selling part equipments of Guanyinhou Factory, and transferred the production and sales business of β-carotene to Li Hong to improve the Company's financial structure.
