Forward Electronics Co., Ltd. was set up in 1970, starting with production of TV tuners, and gradually expanded the production of variable resistor, keyboard, mouse, LCD modules, audio controller, infrared transceiver modules and multimedia card. Its stock went public in 1999. Since 2001, it started backlight module production. In 2004, its stock went listed in OTC market. Its major shareholders include Tatung Group holding 42% stake. Its management team comes from Tatung and CPT. Its main products are fragmented including photovoltaic products (16%), home appliances (23%), electronic components (11%) and others (51%). The company is the largest tuner manufacturer in Taiwan.
