Formerly known as Zhihong Technology, Optoma Technology (OPTOMA) was established on January 9, 2002.In June 2004 it changed its name to Optoma Technology. It belongs to the Coretronic subsidiary .The main product is the projector( 88.46%).The company's products are exported all over the world with its own brand OPTOMA. The technical principles on the projector are divided into two mainstreams called LCD and DLP. Its key optical panel is controlled by the two Japanese companies Sony and Epson. DLP projector which developed from American Texas Instruments entered the market in 2007.Its key element is the developed DMD chip (DigitalMicro-mirrorDevice). Optoma currently uses TI's DLP technology which has gradually become the mainstream. The current global competitors are Japanese Epson(world),Sony, Panasonic, NEC, Toshiba, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Sanyo, Sharp and American Dell, Infocus, Compaq, Taiwan BenQ (BenQ, the world's third).
