In July 1998, the company was registered (formerly known as Pentium Semiconductor Co., Ltd.). In September it changed its name to Taiwan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. In October it started building a new plant.In April 1999 it established the subsidiary Dianqiang Investment Co., Ltd.. In October the plant in Kaohsiung Processing Zone was completed and used. In September 2000,it passed the ISO14001 certification and in October passed the QS9000/9002 certification. In March 2001, Deng Xizhe became general manager. In January 2003, CMOS image sensor IC package was in mass production. In December it went public. In January 2004,it started listed counseling. The company focuses on the development of the optical and ultra-thin IC package.
