United Fiber Optic and Cable was established June 15, 1984, and was approved by the Hsinchu Science-based Industry Park on July 25, 1986. The company began production in March 1987 and receive ISO9002 certification in 1995. UFOC officially went public on the Taiwan Stock Exchange on May 14, 2001. UFOC is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of fiber-optic products and the provision of engineering services in the fiber-optic communication industry. The company provides indoor and outdoor fiber optical cables, small form factor (SFF) patch cords, special optical cables, air-blown optical fibers and related equipment, optical repeaters, digital headend systems, digital transmission equipment, Internet protocol (IP) television boxes, radio frequency identification (RFID) products and application systems. It also provides engineering services, including development and maintenance services for fiber-optic cable projects, as well as integration services for communication, information and controlling system projects. The company has clients in both the private and public sectors as following: Fixed/Mobile Network Operators (Chunghwa Telecom, Far East Telecom, Kg Telecom, ET Broadband and others), Cable Television Operators, Banking System and Public Utilities (Taipei MRT, Taiwan Railway Administration, Bureau of Freeways, Department of Defense, Bureau of Investigation and others).
