Mucoba Bank Plc is a community bank located in Iringa, Tanzania. It was established in December 1998 under Companies Ordinance (Cap 212) with Registration No. 35471. In May 1999, Mucoba Bank Plc became the first community bank in Tanzania to receive a license from the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) to conduct banking operations, with license No. MFI A 00001. The bank offers loans, savings, and other financial services to entrepreneurs, farmers, and employees in the Mufindi District. It was formed based on the success of a revolving fund established by the Mufindi Education Trust (MET) in 1996, which provided credit facilities to its workers and later extended its services to others in the district. Mucoba Bank Plc started its operations to the public in June 1999.
