British American Tobacco Uganda operations include, Tobacco growing, Processing and Export. The Company grows tobacco in 13 districts of Uganda. These include Arua, Yumbe, Kitgum, Gulu, Lira, Apac, Pader, Masindi, Hoima, Kyenjojo, Kiboga, Kibaale and Mubende. Over the years BAT Uganda has prepared the ground extensively for the company to focus profitablity on its leaf growing, processing and export operations. Tobacco grown by farmers is purchased and then transported to the BAT Uganda green leaf threshing plant in Kampala. At the leaf threshing plant the tobacco is processed and then exports to customers world wide. BAT Uganda exports leaf to various counrtries world wide predominatly in Europe, Africa and Asia.
