However, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, starting from the fourth quarter of 2022, textile and garment exports have shown weakness, especially in the first 7 months of 2023, export turnover only reached USD 22.8 billion, down USD 14.7 billion compared to the same period in 2022. The difficult situation of the textile industry is expected to last until the end of this year and possibly next year in the context that the total world demand for textiles and garments in 2023 is expected to decrease by about 8-10%. Therefore, Vietnam's textile and garment exports in 2023 may reach around USD 40 billion, down 9-10% compared to 2022.
