The subject is one of member companies in Gelex Group, in which Vietnam Electric Cable Corporation (known as Cadivi) is the subject's direct parent company. Its core business operation is manufacturing electric cables and telecommunications cables.Cadivi is currently listed on HOSE with stock code “CAV”. At present, Gelex Electricity Joint Stock Company (Gelex) is the largest shareholder of this company. According to press information, this corporation desires to acquire entire shares of Cadivi. As a result, it is most likely that Cadivi will no longer be a public company. Since becoming a member of Gelex Group, Cadivi has had significant changes in operations, such as financial investment, real estate investment, raw material trading (copper, aluminum...), road transport... Although there are changes, Cadivi's main field - electric wire and cable segment, remains stable. According to a survey by the Business Association of High Quality Vietnamese Products, Cadivi still leads the market, accounting for 30% of the electric wire and cable market share in Vietnam (2021-2023). Cadivi has surpassed more than 200 businesses in the same industry such as Cadisun, Tran Phu Electrical Engineering, Taya Vietnam, Daphaco, Thinh Phat... and also foreign competitors such as Bangkok Cable (Thailand), Leader Cable Industry Berhad (Malaysia), Olympic Cable (Malaysia), PT Supreme Cable (Indonesia)... to maintain this position. Vietnam Electricity (EVN) is a major customer of Cadivi.Gelex Group is holding leading brands in electrical equipment such as Cadivi power cables, Thibidi distribution transformers, Emic electrical measuring equipment, Hem electric motors, CFT copper wires, Mee transmission transformer machines… The future development orientation of Gelex Group will continue to invest, modernize factory system, equipment, technology and strengthen R&D activities to meet the needs of domestic and international customers.
