The Coca Cola group has penetrated in Vietnamese market since 1960 when the Coca Cola group was firstly introduced in Vietnam. In 2001, there was a merger between three businesses in the North, Central and South into a unified company - COCA-COLA BEVERAGES VIET NAM LIMITED.Acquired by Swire Coca-Cola Limited in Jan 2023, this acquisition is to be John Swire and Son group first investment in the beverage market in South East Asia and to expand John Swire and Son group's beverage business into one of the most rapidly growing beverages markets. This indicates that The Coca-Cola Company changed way of development for Coca-Cola Vietnam, from in-house manufacturing business of the Coca-Cola Company to a franchising of the Coca-Cola Company.On the media search, we find out an information - John Swire and Sons Limited is ultimate parent company. John Swire and Son Limited owns 59.82% of Swire Pacific Limited (HKSE: 00019/00087) which indirectly has 100% of Coca-Cola Vietnam's interest. John Swire and Son group's business performance by division in 2022 were Aviation – 0.88%, Marine – 1.1%, Propert – 1.49%, Industrial – 12.42%, Trading – 12.2%, Beverages and food chain – 71.89% (including Coca-Cola Vietnam) and other – 0.02%. This means that it is operating in the major division of John Swire and Sons group.
