Cong Ty Co Phan Bia Sai Gon-Nghe Tinh, located in Vinh, was established in 1984 when the Vinh Soft Drink Factory was divided into two units: Vinh Soft Drink Factory and Vinh Oil Pressing Factory. In 1986, to meet the consumer demand in Nghe region, the company installed beer production lines under the brand SOLAVINA. The company changed its name to Nghệ Tĩnh Beer Factory in 1987, then to Nghệ An Beer Factory in 1992. In 1993, the company invested in advanced production technology from Danbrew (Denmark) with a design capacity of 3 million liters per year. On February 5, 1994, the company launched its first product under the brand VIDA (short for Vinh-Denmark). In 1996, the company expanded its investment and changed its name to Nghệ An Beer Joint Stock Company. In March 2001, the company successfully completed its initial public offering and changed its name to Nghệ An Beer Joint Stock Company. In March 2006, the company joined the Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Corporation (SABECO) and changed its name to Sai Gon-Nghệ An Beer Joint Stock Company. On September 25, 2006, the company merged with Sai Gon-Ha Tinh Beer Joint Stock Company and changed its name to Sai Gon-Nghệ Tĩnh Beer Joint Stock Company with a total charter capital of 105 billion VND. From 2007 to 2009, the company invested in expanding the production capacity of Sai Gon-Nghệ An Beer Factory to 50 million liters per year and Sai Gon-Ha Tinh Beer Factory to 15 million liters per year.
