Cong Ty Co Phan Dien Tu Bien Hoa, located in Ho Chi Minh municipality, is a company that was established in April 1971 under the name of SANYO INDUSTRIES VIETNAM. It was originally a joint venture between SANYO ELECTRIC of Japan and a Vietnamese company, specializing in the production of consumer electronics. In 1978, SANYO INDUSTRIES VIETNAM was nationalized and renamed as Sanyo Factory under the Mechanical Company, Ministry of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy. In 1983, Sanyo Factory was renamed as Viettronics Bien Hoa Factory under the Federation of Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgy Enterprises. In 1991, it was renamed as Viettronics Bien Hoa Company under the Federation of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Heavy Industry. In 1993, it was reestablished as Bien Hoa Electronics Company under the Vietnam Electronics and Information Technology Corporation, Ministry of Heavy Industry. On December 24, 2003, the Minister of Industry issued a decision to transform Bien Hoa Electronics Company into Bien Hoa Electronics Joint Stock Company. And on October 21, 2004, Bien Hoa Electronics Joint Stock Company officially operated under the trade name VIETTRONICS BIEN HOA JOINT STOCK COMPANY, as certified by the Business Registration Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Investment. The company has always focused on investing in expanding production workshops and upgrading equipment with advanced technology to improve labor productivity and product quality. Since 1985, the company has made several investments and now has a strong technical infrastructure to sustain and develop. Each investment and innovation milestone marks the remarkable development of the company. The efforts of the employees have been recognized by the Party and the State for their achievements in production and business activities, as well as by quality organizations and consumers: - In 1985, the company was awarded the Third-class Labor Medal by the State Council. - In 1986, it received 18 gold medals for its electronic products at the National Economic and Technical Exhibition held in Giang Vo, Hanoi. - In 1988, it was commended for product quality management by the State Science and Technology Committee, and received three national quality certifications: one high-level quality certificate and two level 1 quality certificates. - In 1994, it was awarded the Second-class Labor Medal by the State Council. - From 1999 to 2007, it received various consumer-voted titles, such as "High-quality Vietnamese Goods" by Saigon Marketing Newspaper, "Strong Vietnamese Brand" by Thoi Bao Kinh Te (Economic Times), and was recognized as one of the top 500 famous brands in Vietnam by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with AC NEILSEL Company. - It has also received awards such as the Vietnam Industrial Brand Gold Cup and the Gold Medal at the International Industrial Exhibition in Vietnam. - In 2008-2009, it was commended by the Minister of Industry and Trade for its achievements in exceeding production and business targets.
